Hi, I’m David and this is my wife Tonya. We’re glad you came to our website. Here are a few things about us:
- We dated and were married in Chico, California in 1990 (it seems like yesterday!)
- We have three girls and four grandsons
- We enjoy going to the gym and the beach
- We like attending our grandsons’ football, basketball, and soccer games
- We love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Those are fun and good things, but life isn’t always like that. We all go through difficult times. We are no different. In a five year span:
- Our church experienced a drastic decline in attendance and giving
- Our youngest daughter was struggling with drugs and legal issues
- During the great recession, we were forced to sell our home
- Our eldest daughter, a pastor's wife, went through a bitter divorce and she and our three grandsons came to live with us
- Tonya was in a car accident and had neck fusion surgery
- Our fourth grandson was born prematurely at one pound twelve ounces
- David was diagnosed with cancer
We tell you this, not to receive your sympathy, but to help you understand that cancer has not been our only difficult season. Take it to the bank, we have some real-life street “cred” and you'll learn more about that in the book.
Today Is My Favorite Day, is a simple statement that reminds Tonya and me of six simple truths about God and continues to help us through our dirty dishes, difficult seasons, and devastating events. I hope the book, workbook, and prayer book are as helpful to you as they have been for us.
